I'm approaching my 6 month mark in the next few weeks as the only analyst at a no name boutique. In addition, I was a non finance major (accounting) with no IB internship experience.
I feel like most of my work is administrative (creating presentations, editing, printing, updating buyer lists, etc.).
Our firm does very little modelling since a) we only have a few deals and b) our MD's like to have the client's CFO to take ownership of the models.
In order to prepare myself for the buyside and make sure I'm keeping up with other analysts on Wall Street, what are some key concepts/valuation techniques I should know by the end of my first year?
