I have been interviewing recently with a boutique IB based in NY. I went through 2 rounds of interviews and did well in them both, and heard back from the interviewer that I didn't get the job because the position got scrapped due to budget issues. However I thought maybe it had to do with the fact that I was not a US citizen? I know Canadians can work IB in the US with a TN Visa which is a much simpler and cheaper process. Has anyone from Canada been successful at getting a job at a boutique IB in the US? Can someone share their experiences and thoughts. I was never asked whether I needed Visa sponsorship during the interview. I checked online and it actually showed that the company does sponsor h1b visas for analysts. So I am confused.
