What were the most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked?:
The questions were not too difficult in terms of technical ability but they grilled me on my prior experience and wanted to know exactly what I contributed specifically to those deals, how big the deal team was, any nuances involved in the financial model built or tax code of the specific countries.
I was asked basic technical questions like how I calculated the cost of capital used in the financial model of a certain project and how I calculated the cost of equity in particular.
I was not asked my view on M&A or sector trends.

How did you answer each of these questions (please be specific)?:
In my opinion I answered the deal experience questions fine but ultimately one of the directors did not seem very impressed with my team dynamic compared to at their banks and was not impressed with my level of involvement in certain deals, even though it was not particularly my fault I was not more involved.
I would stay confident in answering questions as they sometimes liked to challenge your answers, even if they were 100% just to test you. Also try and go into as much detail as possible so that they do not have to keep probing you.
