Applied Online
What were the most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked?:
Was asked about my story, my thoughts on the current trajectory of the healthcare system, some companies that I was currently interested in and what I thought the potential would be a flu vaccine to cover all flu types. The VP that I had talked to for the past three months did not show up to the interview as he had insinuated that he would and the latter half of the interview consisted of the two interviewers shredding my LBO model and essentially saying that there was no point in showing up because I didn't have prior experience.

Overall, how would you describe your interview experience?:
Very Negative
Please describe the interview / hiring process.:
Reached out to a banker on their personal email address and received a message back a few months later, asking for a screening phone call. Then I went for a personal meeting and eventually was invited to their "formal interviews." Really what this meant was that they'd give me an LBO assignment with 48 hours and base the majority of their evaluation on it.
Overall, how difficult was the interview?:
Very Difficult

How did you answer each of these questions (please be specific)?:
I gave my meticulously prepared story and answered the capital markets questions as best as I could, though this did not go well. I walked my interviewers through my LBO model and they pretty much just told me that it was terrible because I didn't model out balance sheet specifics (which were not asked for in the vague assignment outline). For a company that allegedly is looking for scientists with a passion for finance, this company did not interview like it, and put a very poor taste in my mouth. I would not recommend applying here.
