I'm currently doing my internship at a top MM bank (IBD). I'm a rising senior at H/W, with what I'd like to think is a decently competitive resume (3.6 GPA, former varsity athlete, current internship is obviously IB related). My classmate was emailed about a networking event for acvelerated FT recruiting at an EB, telling him about certain networking events and to rsvp by submitting a resume via email (he won't be rsvp-ing at all since he is at a HF and will be joining there full time, however he did get an interview with this bank as a junior during OCR).
My question is how strict are they usually with the invite list? If I directly email the person referenced in the email a rsvp, will I be considered at all even though I didn't technically get invited? And what about just showing up anyway to network? This is obviously a great opportunity if you were invited but as someone who wasn't, I don't want to overstep any boundaries.
Thanks!
