Hey, WSO
I'm an incoming freshman at a non-target in Chicago (DePaul) who is currently torn between pursuing accounting or finance. For now, I'm doing accounting and am planning to pursue an advisory role at a big 4 firm, although I've always had dreams of being in IB. If I switched my major to finance (which wouldn't affect my academic progress at all), kept a good GPA (3.5+), pursued a general finance internship my freshman year, and WM at Morgan Stanley or something similar my sophomore year, would I be able to swing a summer analyst position my junior or senior years? I know I wouldn't be able to get into a BB, but do I have a decent shot at any MM or boutique banks in the Midwest? Or am I just dreaming? Could really use any advice that I could get.
Thanks!
