Debt Advisory Groups - MM/EBs

Does anyone have any insight to the debt advisory groups at MM/EBs are like that don't have balance sheets? I'm assuming they work on helping sponsors line up financing packages for the sell side processes the coverage groups are working on. More curious on reputation, hours, pay, exits? Thanks
