MBA Summer Associate IBD Recruiting - INTERNATIONALS

Hi everyone, 

what is your experience with IB summer/FT associate recruiting for the NY office as an international (in particular European)? I am thinking of applying to M-7. 

Also, is 2 years pre-MBA work experience competitive enough (i.e. GS Investor Relations team in Asset Management) or would banks prefer consulting/corp finance candidates?
