Hello, Do firms hire people for analyst role at 25?I'm looking to apply for my Masters degree (not MBA) and I don't have workex to start at associate role. I also don't mind starting as an entry level analyst at 25. I'm not looking for a BB Ib role, infact I wanna start my career working at an EB as an analyst.
Looking for some honest advice.
Thanks
Friend of mine will probably start an role as an analyst by 26/27.
He is a German student who finished high school by 18 and had 1 year of civil service. Afterwards he started an degree as a data scientist but converted 1 year later to economics. After 3 years as an undergraduate he started his masters degree.
After finishing this in December 2019 at age 25 he started doing internships (he only had one fiance related (BIG 4) so far).
The last time I have spoken to him (April) he had secured 4 internships each lasting 3 months (including 1PE, 1 AM, 2IB (Evercore beeing the more famous one).
At that time he already got a FT offer from his first internship (Feb-April) but still decided to complete the other internships.
Having said this it is important to know that
a) he hasn't applied directly for an analyst role but was/will converted as an intern
b) i am speaking about the DACH-Region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) were it is generally typically to do their masters degree and not a MBA. Around 60-80% of German students do their masters degree and in my last internship 9/11 analysts had a master.
Hope that helps with your question somewhat!
Btw. Sorry for the format, texted from my phone.
Tbh even if you want to start as a analyst at 30 if you are qualified and will work I don’t see why they wouldn’t hire you, would seem like a idiotic move by a company not to hire someone because they are 30 vs 23.
I’m 25 and will start as an A1 at a London EB in a couple of months - no problem at all here.
