cold emailing networking question for junior internship

Hi all,

I have been following up WSO for several months, and decided to ask questions about networking, specifically about cold-emailing:

-I'm transferring to university B from university A. In my initial email, do I write "I'm university B student" or "I'm transferring to university B for this fall"? Target contacts are both alumni and non-alumni
-I'm making a list of contacts through linkedIn, and some write their specific jobs while others are not. I'm interested in IBD, especially M&A. Should I contact (1) M&A people only (2) IBD (M&A, ECM, DCM) (3) anyone who works in my target company, regardless of their jobs (such as sales&tradings?)
