Hi all. So I've been in the valuation division of a large accounting firm for about 2 years and I'm ready to try to make the move into IB.
A few questions:
-Resume: Should my resume reflect "deal" related experiences even though everything I do is mostly post acquisition (goodwill impairments, purchase price allocation, etc) with the exception of fairness opinions & pre-deal opinions of company value? I'm skeptical of being too specific as I work on a number of projects and want to list as many transferable skills as possible.
-Networking: I'm assuming alumni, former big 4 people, and friends/acquaintances would be my targets. Would reaching out to analysts be helpful at all? I'm 24 for the record.
Have any of you fellow monkeys made the jump? How did you sell your story/skillset? Really appreciate any advice, thanks.
