Hi fellow monkeys,
I know quite a few people who have started their own companies. While this sounds impressive, in almost every single case, when I would look up/research their companies, I would find out that they are nowhere near as big, lucrative or impactful as the owners would say they are on their resumes (or through conversations with them). The same goes for new clubs in college.
Having known most of these people very well, I know that they are just doing this for their resumes; while I understand that everyone wants their resumes to stand out, I think that this is just a wrong way to do it.
What do you all think? Can people see right through this sort of stuff?
