Let's say a bank reassesses its needs and in the winter or after they hear back from interns and realize they need more headcount. I'm thinking about how they would reach out to contacts at the top of their lists to fill the spot. On the one hand, the best candidates probably have (and have probably accepted) offers elsewhere, but successfully recruiting them would mean forcing a reneging, which doesn't seem kosher. On the other hand, going after uncommitted applicants may mean accepting a lower caliber candidate pool. How does this stuff work?
