Can anyone with insight into capital markets groups of PE funds please provide some information regarding the role itself and responsibilities of the groups.
My understanding is that a part of these groups manage lender relationships in order to raise financing directly from the lenders rather than paying fees to the traditional investment bank. Is this a less credit intensive / modeling heavy role as that work is usually done by investment teams, and the broker dealer teams would essentially be more of a sales force?
If anyone would have additional information into this group within a PE fund it would be very much appreciated and can speak offline if it would help.
