Hey all.
Current university student at a target school in Australia. Here we have a program called FINSIA (not sure if it's also available in the US).
Basically it's an off-campus society where I have the option to sign up for a mentoring program. For 16 weeks, I get teamed up with a mentor in the finance sector to help me build a good resume, assist me with networking, and general advice.
I get to pick the mentor, and after browsing the list of available mentors, there's an MD at Rothschild. He's the only on in the IB sector (there's also a VP at PwC in Corp. Finc., but yeah).
The catch? The program costs $1000.
For a uni student, that's an awful lot to pay in all honesty. However, if the program does what it says (and also by making a handy connection in the MD), I'd gladly pay the amount they ask.
So what do you guys think? Does it seem worth it?
