What can I do in my Freshman year of college to get a jumpstart for my career?

Hi all,

I am currently a Freshman attending community college for my first year, before pursuing a guaranteed transfer to Cornell University's Dyson School of AEM for my succeeding three years. Being at a community college in NYC, I feel so limited. Limited not just by losing a first-year college experience, but also limited in terms of opportunities and programs. It sucks being in a thriving city, taking mundane classes learning basically nothing, and wasting the bits of free time I do have. Thus, I have decided to do turn a new leaf, and invest my energies and efforts into fruitful and productive endeavors. I want to do x, I want to do y, I want to do z... But, the problem is: I don't know where to begin. I definitely see my future in IB or Entrepreneurship, but for now, I am struggling to find out what I can do this year with all this unused time on my hands to give myself a jump-start for the future. While other college freshmen are solely working and studying, I want to study while juggling perhaps a job, internship, etc. Of course, I would also prefer that I can undertake an activity that would aid in buffing my resume, as I do lack a substantial financial / business background at the moment.

What do I do WSO??? Please help!

Best,
Bjoon
