So I just graduated college in May with a non-finance background and jumped on the first IB position I could get at a boutique BD in NY. We do almost exclusively capital formations (private and public) often taking a co-managerial role on the public raises. I am strongly considering trying to lateral to a more reputable firm for a broader deal exposure and to strengthen my resume for business school. I was just wondering if I could get some advice on timing. I started pretty recently (about to take my first Series 79 in October) so I don't know if it would be viewed unfavorably that I am already looking to lateral (both from my current firm and potential employers). If anyone could give me some advice on timing when I should start sending out applications, I would really appreciate it!
