Information Sources for Syndicated IG Loans

$

Hi there,
I mainly use S&P LCD for Information regarding leveraged loans . Now I am looking for good information sources for IG syndicated loans (or all Kind of loans which are not covered by S&P LCD).
I guess there something more or less equivalent to S&P LCD should also exist for the non-leveraged loan market?
Thank you!

Listing Latin Honors? (Cum Laude / With Honors)

I recently just graduated with a 3.66/4.00 GPA. I'm planning on just rounding to a 3.7/4.0 GPA for any buyside recruiting down the road. But should I even list non-Magna/Summa honors on my resume? Or is it better to just not include it since top 25% isn't that impressive (as top 5%-15%).

Adderall Everywhere?

I recently read somewhere that adderall is very common among analysts. Some have said it has become the legal cocaine for bankers.

Some are addicted to prescription drugs like Adderall or Ritalin. To cope, they resort to "depersonalization," a feeling of numbness toward the rest of the world. A few have been suicidal.

Is adderall prevalent on Wall Street. If so, does the positive effect of being more productive out weigh the negative side effect of the prescription drug?

Morgan Stanley background check question?

Hi all, I accepted an SA offer. They want me to disclose all employment history in the last 5 years. I have one quick question.

4 years ago, I interned at a local manufacturing company's factory for 6 weeks. (Totally irrelevant role to finance) The internship was unpaid and unofficial. Plus, it isn't listed on my resume. I don't even have any contacts there.

So my question is: should I list this in the background check form?

SA Technical Interviews

For summer analyst positions in investment banking, to what extent should one know about the following for the sake of interviews?

DCF models
Merger models
lbo models

I'm assuming that analysts/associates don't want an intern who's clueless.

Write know I'm memorizing the BIWS interview guide for each of these things. Am I wasting my time learning about Merger models and LBO models?

Please also keep in mind that as the community continues to grow and evolve, we would like to keep it at least somewhat civil, useful and entertaining. To that end, here are a few items to keep in mind as you participate in the community:

* Please do your best to avoid starting a thread on a topic that has already been discussed. Use the Search function or visit the new Frequently Asked Questions page first

* Respect your fellow monkeys and do not write something you would never say to a person in public. The administrators and moderators all reserve the right to edit and delete posts and ban particularly abusive users

* Never disclose names or personal details of people other than yourself. This can get you banned. If you are posting your own personal information, keep in mind that many current and prospective bankers are reading these forums. Showing maturity and respect may very well help you in your job search!

* Stay on topic. If you want to discuss a new issue, please start a new topic.

* For more details, please review our WSO User Guidelines

* If you find a post offensive, contact Ivy at Ivy@wallstreetoasis.com

Dear WSO Community,

I'm pleased to announce the release of the 2014 WSO Compensation Report! We had another great year with even MORE entries than last year (over 5,000)! It took many months of hard work and finally, it's here ...and it's still free :-)

Yes, that's right, access to the FULL 155 page 2014 WSO Compensation Report is 100% free. (up from 108 pages last year). This report contains thousands of data points across investment banking, private equity, hedge funds and management consulting.

The report cuts the data numerous ways including division, city, AUM and company type and can help you know if you are getting paid enough. In the 2014 version, we even have data on target vs. non-target schools, race, GPA and major. Where else can you find interesting insights like that?

Or if you are an employer, this report will give you an idea of what range you should be paying your employees.

DOWNLOAD A FREE PREVIEW OF 2013 HERE TO GET AN IDEA OF WHAT IS INCLUDED

Here's how you get access to the full 155 page report:

The same as last year. All we ask from you is to take a few minutes to help us continue to build the most comprehensive and accurate database possible. After submitting three total entries (past entries count) to our Company Database (these entries can either be Company Reviews, Interview Insights* and/or Compensation Datapoints), your entries will be reviewed and you will be granted access to the report after 24 hours of submission (assuming we approve your additions).

Please DO NOT send me a private message or ask here if/when you can be given access unless:

1) you have submitted 3 entries and
2) 48 hours have passed from when you submitted your third entry and you still don't have access OR
3) you are a member of the media that would like to cover Wall Street Oasis and unique insights from the report (Patrick@wallstreetoasis.com)

Once you have access, you can go to the link at the top of this post and it will show the 2014 and 2013 reports as flash files. There are no hard copies sent out or e-mailed. Thank You..

Did you study abroad?

Did you study abroad?
Where did you go?
When in your college career did you go?
Did it effect recruiting?

Just interested to see how many people made the choice to study abroad and get some broader insight. I've used the search tool and didn't find any well developed threads.

Thank you gift ideas

Hey guys,

I'd like to get a thank you gift for someone who pulled for me during the IBD recruitment process.
I was thinking perhaps a bottle of whisky or some good chocolates. I am a total noob when it comes to whisky. Any suggestions re: what is appropriate? I am looking for something good that doesn't scream college-student-who-ran-down-to-the-dep but not a $1000 bottle either.

Appreciate any help!

IB SA Receiving More Meaningful Work?

$

It's 1 week into the IB SA internship, and I have been learning a lot and familiarizing myself with a day in the life of an investment banker. However, I notice that I haven't been given any substantial Excel or modeling work yet. Is there a way I can receive more meaningful work? Is it too early into the internship for them to trust me with such work or should I constantly ask for more work as a decent amount of days I am given assignments but I finish them fast and I end up reading old company deal reports or browse the web.

How strong are these different groups at Credit Suisse in London and which ones will be best for breaking into PE and HF?

- Leveraged Finance and Financial Sponsors group
- Retail / Consumer
- Healthcare
- Energy
- Real Estate, Technoloy, Media & Telecoms
- Industrials
- M&A

I have used the search function, but it is difficult to find some sort of updated info. I have heard that their Healthcare team in London is small, but growing .
