Hello everyone, firs of all I want to introduce myself. My name is Mark and I am in college. I have spent the last 3 years completeing my degree in Caribbean Studies. I did good and got a 2 GPA. I heard a lot about how bankers ruined the economy but I figure if you can't beat em join em. I went to a occupy wall street meeting back when I was young and they were active, and I realized all the kids there were stupid. I heard that becoming a investment banker is hard, evidenced by my friend who works until 8 at night on Mondays and Wednesdays. Now that's just at a small bank, TD Bank. I can imagine at a large corporate empire like Bank of America or Capital One. I think I could make a good banker as I like talking to people and I have taught several people to dance Merengue. I also did descent in my intro to advanced algebra class in freshman year. I'm very excited about trading stocks on the floor for customers and making big investment decisions and managing the portfolio of customers.
So now I ask, what advices could you give to some one in my position? A friend has told me that I am too good for a corporate job and that I should focus on my passion for skateboarding. Do you ever feel as though you wish you could wish you could drop it all and leave the life behind and do whatever? If I don't work here then I will go back and life with my father in Haiti, as he has money to provide me with a good life until I die. What would you do?
