Evercore in 2020

Evercore in 2020Paulo DybiSeptember 6, 2020 - 10:29pm

Updated thoughts on Evercore? Obviously a top-notch firm, but have been hearing that exits haven't consistently been as lights out as in previous years as the firm expanded. Insight into comp and culture would be great too.

Have worked with quite a few Evercore alums at my current firm (UMM PE) and my undergrad is one of their top ~5 target schools. Exits are still very good - I think the larger class size had helped to some extent with PE recruiting because the analysts there would be spread less thin (on average) than the ones at Lazard / Moelis (although both of these banks have recently bumped up their class sizes). For last year's second year class, bonuses were around ~$100k (might have been $90k / $95k and $100k buckets). Base was above $95k. Pretty good comp. Culture may be somewhat variable depending on group but think it's pretty solid overall. All of the Evercore alums at my firm spoke highly of their experience and enjoyed working there.

Did a quick LinkedIn search...exits for most recent batch out of NYC include (but are not limited to): Blackstone, Berkshire (x2), Carlyle, Carlyle AlpInvest, GI Partners, GIC, GS Merchant, L Catterton, Lindsay Goldberg, MDP (x2), Searchlight (x2), Siris, Taconic, THL, TPG (x2), Warburg, Welsh Carson (x2)
